Overview

This unit examines the current and evolving role of the paramedic and explores how paramedicine is practiced in Australia.

The importance of health and wellbeing preparedness for paramedicine career longevity is emphasised. You will learn about resilience, self-care strategies, the challenges of working within a highly dynamic field, and having to deal with adverse and often potentially dangerous situations.

Identifying relevant professional standards and competencies relating to PBA registration requirements, you will identify appropriate professional behaviours, communication methods, and legal and ethical issues such as consent and negligence.  You will complete Allies in Indigenous Health modules.
