Overview
In this unit you will put into practice the theory that underpins the profession of health promotion by working in an agency which has promoting health as part of its core business. You will gain practical experience in preparation for embarking or enhancing a career in health promotion as well as opportunities to learn about core competencies, career development and essential employability skills required from a graduate. Applying the knowledge gained through your course by working in health promoting agencies will help you to better understand content learned and prepare you for the realities of the workplace. Please note that pending availability, both on site and virtual placements may be offered.

Workload and teaching
- Seminars12 hours
100 hours of field placement in addition to mandatory attendance of 12 hours of seminars (6 x 2 hour fortnightly), 3 X supervision meetings with Unit Coordinators and 2 hours of private study per week.
