Synopsis
In this unit, you will examine the relationship between social media and health. You will explore the role social media platforms play in health communication, ethical and legal considerations surrounding health-related social media use, and the impact of social media on health behaviour. You will also learn how to harness social media analytics for effective health promotion and refine the skills necessary to collaborate and communicate effectively within virtual health communities.
Assessment tasks will include sharing and critically analysing health related social media content and producing a social media strategy to address a health challenge. This unit will require engagement with social media platforms that are outside of the Monash learning management system.
