This unit will focus on the management of selected endocrine and renal conditions by relating the pathophysiology and clinical use of medicines and the development of a patient-specific care plan. This unit also introduces the concepts and applications of evidence-based practice, key components of medication safety and review and a systems-based approach to healthcare with respect to patients with complex needs. Pharmaceutical formulation principles and extemporaneous compounding techniques will be highlighted in this unit.
