Ethical, legal and professional practice

PSY6103

Synopsis

This unit extends Provisional Psychologists knowledge of clinical governance frameworks relevant to professional practice. You will apply a range of ethical decision-making models across various clinical practice contexts, and you will have the opportunity to use them during learning activities and scenarios. A highlight of this unit is the cross-discipline collaborative work undertaken in conjunction with the Faculty’s Gukwonderuk Indigenous Engagement Unit. This enables psychology students to work with students from a range of health professions to develop and deepen understanding of culturally safe practice particularly when supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples . Finally, this unit offers you an opportunity to reflect on the development of your professional identity as a psychologist.
