Synopsis
This unit consists of online theory related to radiation therapy practice and an 8 week clinical placement, allowing you to develop technical and professional skills in radiation therapy imaging, planning, treatment, digital health systems and patient care. This unit will provide you with the opportunity to develop beginner level knowledge and skills related to interprofessional collaboration, cultural safety and a holistic view of patient care. You will analyse and apply the principles of radiation therapy planning, including the use of artificial intelligence, through simulated online radiation therapy planning curriculum activities at a beginner level. You will continue to develop knowledge and apply the principles of safe practice to treatment, communication and patient care online and in the workplace.
Summer A Offering: (prerequisite RTS4102) 4 weeks simulated learning and pre-clinical activities undertaken prior to an 8 week clinical placement commencing in January.
Summer B Offering: (Prerequisite RTS4106) commence 8 weeks of clinical placement in January and will be exempt from pre-clinical simulated learning activities.
