Overview
This unit introduces you to the world of innovation and its role in addressing the key challenges facing businesses and industries all over the world. You will be introduced to the key frameworks, stakeholders and considerations necessary for critically evaluating the corporate innovation space. You will explore how an entrepreneurial mindset can be harnessed to develop cutting edge business solutions. The unit provides you with the opportunity to develop a business idea into something that can be pitched to investors. The unit will enable you to identify, define and describe key corporate innovation and entrepreneurial frameworks, the importance of lean methodology, risk analysis and pitching to bring an idea into reality in two different contexts.

You will frequently be posed questions and engage in class discussions which have unclear or multiple responses to highlight the diversity in both the corporate innovation and entrepreneurial spaces.
By emulating a start-up and large corporation students will gain first hand insights into the challenges and focus areas required to instigate innovative change.

We will be analysing real-world examples of how business and private organisations attempt to innovate within their own company.
