Overview
Cybersecurity focuses on the principles, practice and management of security technologies and networks used within an organisation for their information needs. You will learn how to design and develop secure computer networks and monitor their performance. You will learn to, incorporate security measures to protect corporate information systems and their access through the internet, and develop secure applications systems. It will prepare you for careers in technical positions responsible for building, managing and maintaining secure IT infrastructure.

Cybersecurity is listed in C2000 Bachelor of Information Technology at Clayton as a major and a minor.
Note: This major is also offered at Malaysia campus to provide students with the opportunity to pursue studies in this area.
Structure
Rules
You must complete 48 credit points, comprising:
- 36 credit points of core units; and
- 12 credit points of additional units
Note 1: Non-IT students undertaking this major need to complete FIT1045 and FIT1047 to satisfy the prerequisites of some of the units in the major. If you are enrolled in C2000 Bachelor of Information Technology you will complete FIT1045 and FIT1047 as part of your course.
Note 2: If you are in the double degree course with the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) completing a software engineering specialisation, you must replace FIT2121 and FIT2173 with two FIT-coded Level 2 or Level 3 electives.
