Overview

Aimed at advancing your professional interests, the general education stream offers engagement in a range of contemporary educational areas. You will have the opportunity to strengthen both your skills and practitioner knowledge, through academic interaction with research across contexts, aligned with contemporary educational dialogue. These contexts include schools, workplaces, vocational and tertiary education settings and community organisations. The course offers opportunities for action research and direct engagement with current educational debate. Some options are embedded within the course to span different educational specialisms, drawing from a wider suite of units. Consequently, the course has been intentionally constructed to be relevant, current and to address specific educational discourses to advance your skill and knowledge.

Option 2 - Pathway to graduate research

24 credit points
A pathway to graduate research (e.g. master by research, PhD) is available if you have achieved a weighted average mark of at least 75% in the units of this course. PLEASE NOTE: If you are invited into this pathway, you must enrol in the units listed below; if you are invited into this pathway and have been admitted into the course at entry level 3, you must transfer into the general education studies specialisation; on-campus attendance is required for this pathway; and this pathway is not available at the point of entry.
