Program requirements
All research students will be required to undertake compulsory training in the following areas:
- Monash Graduate Research Induction (online)
- Research Integrity (online)
- Respectful Research at Monash (online)
- Cultural Foundations: Building your knowledge of Australia's First Peoples (online)
- Faculty induction, including occupational health and safety (where required).
- Coursework component
PhD students must complete (or receive credit for) two compulsory coursework units, normally prior to the confirmation milestone:
- MPH6040 Introductory epidemiology
- A relevant methodology Unit (MPH6041 Introductory biostatistics or MPH6215 Qualitative research methods)
Students are also required to complete the 'Ethics and good research practice' short course delivered by the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine within their first year of enrolment.
