Overview

Software development develops your ability to design, build and improve contemporary software systems across web, mobile, full-stack and interactive contexts. You will learn how to move from user needs and system requirements to working software, using object-oriented design, data modelling, interface design, software architecture, AI-supported development practice and modern implementation tools.

The major combines practical development capability with human-centred and inclusive design. You will also engage with emerging software practices through units focused on makerspace creation, human understanding, AI navigation and inclusive interaction design.

This major prepares you for roles in software development, web and mobile application development, full-stack development, user interface development, software design, product development and technology-enabled innovation.

Availability
Software development is listed in C2000 Bachelor of Information Technology at Clayton as a major and a minor.
