The course comprises 24 points of study which provide knowledge, skills, attitudes and values required of skilled practitioners working in a range of fields addressing marketing and digital communications.

Units are 6 points unless otherwise stated.

You must complete 24 points from Part a. and b. below:

a. 12 points from the following units:

  • APG5191 Principles of global communications 
  • APG5192 Strategic communications in a digital era 
  • APG5193 Data analytics in communications 

b. 12 points from the following units:

  • MKO5916 Marketing principles in a digital world
  • MKO5601 Social media marketing
  • MKO5926 Integrated marketing communications
  • MKO5881 Digital marketing

Learning outcomes

These course outcomes are aligned with the Australian Qualifications Framework and Monash Graduate Attributes.

Upon successful completion of this course it is expected that you will be able to:

    critically analyse a range of texts and cultural products pertaining to marketing and  digital communication

Entry requirements

English language

Monash minimum: Level A, that is: IELTS: 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or TOEFL Paper-based test: 550 with a TWE of 4.5; or TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or Equivalent approved English test

Progression to further studies

Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate of Marketing and Digital Communications will be eligible for admission at into the Master of Marketing and Digital Communications. Successful completion of this course may provide a pathway to a master's course in the Faculty of Arts subject to satisfying the appropriate entry requirements.
