Master of Laws
The Master of Laws is structured in four parts: Part A. Foundation studies, Part B. Core studies, Part C. Specialist studies, and Part D. Specified elective studies. In this double degree course you complete:
Part C. Specialist studies
These studies enable you to develop specialised knowledge and advanced skills in a particular area of law that suit your interests, skills and career goals. You will be able to focus on sources of information relevant to your specialisation and the application of
research methods and specialist discipline knowledge and skills necessary to support law related work. Depending on your interests and motivation, you can choose a program of study in which you plan and execute a major research-based project with a high level of personal autonomy and accountability
Part D. Specified elective studies
Elective units can be chosen from any specialisation to meet the credit point requirement for the course. Students may also apply for LAW4811 In-house clinical placement: Law reform and systemic change, or the MON5750 Monash Innovation Guarantee.
Master of Management
The Master of Management is structured in three parts, Part A. Core studies, Part B. Discipline studies and Part C. Elective studies. In this double degree course you complete:
Part A. Core studies
These units will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of core management principles, contemporary practice and leadership and their impact on multi-discipline decision-making in organisations. These units will develop your capacity as an innovative future-ready professional who is able to apply specialist knowledge to complex management issues.
Part B. Discipline studies
These units develop your capacity as a critical and creative professional who can apply advanced management knowledge to analyse complex organisational issues. You will build the skills to evaluate theories, apply evidence-based practices, and design innovative solutions that enhance leadership, strategy, and sustainable performance in diverse organisational contexts. Selected units within this part are accredited by the Australian HR Institute (AHRI).

The Master of Laws (LLM) program is designed for graduates who wish to develop advanced professional skills and deepen their knowledge in the field of law. This course allows you to either focus on a specialised area of law or select from a broad range of electives tailored for professional practice. It enhances the capacity for independent research and provides a pathway to doctoral studies. Throughout the program, you will investigate contemporary issues in law, practice, and scholarship, evaluating complex legal matters from theoretical, international, and interdisciplinary perspectives.
The Master of Management (MMgt) focuses on enhancing management skills within dynamic organisational environments. It examines management practices in relation to the Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME), a United Nations-supported initiative that balances economic and sustainability goals. This course aims to develop future-ready managers who are aware of global impacts and capable of addressing complex global challenges. It is suitable for career professionals with an undergraduate degree and work experience, as well as students with a related undergraduate degree seeking to advance their careers and enhance their management knowledge and skills. The course is designed to provide a comprehensive, intellectually demanding, and up-to-date understanding of management and human resource management theory and practice.
Together, these programs aim to produce graduates with a well-rounded perspective on both law and management, equipping them to address contemporary issues and create innovative solutions in their professional fields.
