Synopsis

Evaluation plays a vital role in providing government ministers, public managers, policy advisers and other interested parties with quality information on the success or otherwise of specific programs. This unit introduces you to program evaluation techniques and how they can be used to generate quality information about program performance. The unit provides you with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively commission and conduct program evaluations. Topics include: identifying issues and formulating questions for effective program evaluation; assessing and monitoring program processes, program outcomes and program impact; measurement issues; and alternative strategies for program evaluation.
