Overview
This unit provides a contemporary, global and sociocultural evaluation of public relations theory, research and practice. You critically engage with the challenges of communication management in different cultural contexts and analyse the complex role and impact of public relations in society. Topics include the rise of promotional culture, professional ethics as well as issues of diversity and inclusion across diverse industry sectors. National, transnational and postcolonial perspectives are explored to better understand the practice of public relations in different countries and regions.

This unit is taught intensively in block-mode across six weeks from Weeks 1 to 6 of Semester 2.
