Synopsis
The unit will consist of two sections: Intermediate 2 Language (50%) and Culture (50%).
Language: extend on language acquisition through the use of contemporary written, aural and audio-visual materials representing selected situations and registers, and aspects of Italian history and culture; consolidation and extension of grammatical knowledge and vocabulary at level A2/B1 of the European Language Framework;
Culture: an introduction to key aspects of Italian history, society and culture with a focus on the Renaissance and the Enlightenment and their connections to the present. This unit will introduce you to the works of major Italian authors, artists and philosophers from the 15th to the 18th century.
