Developing professional skills: Data collection and evidence-based practice
ATS3255
Synopsis
Criminal justice agencies such as police, corrections, crime prevention, victim support, and border control, place a strong focus on evidence-based practice in relation to their area of operation and responsibility. In this unit, you will learn how the research data and information that underpins such assertions is collected, analysed and presented. You will conduct a mock ‘commissioned’ mixed methods research project. As part of the project you will undertake a survey, qualitative interview and data analysis and conclude by writing up your research findings. This unit will equip you with the skills you need to be competitive, knowledgeable, ethical and professional in your chosen field of practice.
