Overview
In this unit, you will build on the skills learned in Professional Project 1, developing applied research skills in the design and execution of a real world applied research project. Emphasis is placed on the development of skills in critically evaluating research, planning, designing and undertaking a research project, working as part of a team, and reporting to various audiences. You will be assessed both individually and in teams. You will develop an understanding of, and proficiency in, applied research design and the research process. You will also experience working in research teams, and managing professional relationships. You will learn how to write for different audiences, including for policy and industry practice, as well as academic requirements around the reporting of research results. Importantly, you will be directly exposed to a range of potential future employers, allowing you to showcase the skills and abilities learned during your degree, as well as explore unique insights into the crime and justice sectors across Australia.

This unit engages students in enquiry-based learning, where they will be encouraged to use their own knowledge to develop and engage in a process of enquiry, study and research to identify areas to be investigated and an approach to doing so.
