ATS3964
Synopsis
In this capstone unit you will explore media, identity and power in a contemporary context, with a particular focus on issues of gender and race. You will build on your existing knowledge of communications and media studies to interrogate how media systems, texts, platforms, industries, and audiences produce, reproduce, and challenge social inequalities and power dynamics. You will evaluate and apply ethically informed research methods to investigate racialised and gendered media practices, developing advanced critical media literacy and research skills for professional and academic contexts.
