Overview
Collaborative design studio 2 explores how design can be used to mediate and facilitate social interactions and is subsequently concerned with designing for a more equitable future. Problem-focused outcomes will vary in scale and extend from real-world contexts to the hypothetical, while demonstrating your ability to design with care, curiosity, and criticality.
Through participation in a series of facilitated workshops, you will develop a deeper understanding of how humans experience and perceive things in different ways. This unit will help you understand the benefits of designing with diverse perspectives in ways that are participatory, inclusive, respectful, and build collective capability. Through a series of projects, you will develop contextually appropriate design methods and tools to facilitate meaningful, supportive, and layered dialogue that values deep listening and coordinating multiple perspectives.
