Overview
Collaborative design studio 3 is an exploration of the intersection between Indigenous knowledge systems and artificial intelligence (AI), delving into the underlying systems and structures that support both. Through an open-ended inquiry, you will investigate the ways AI includes, builds, marginalises, erases, connects, or harms individuals, communities, cultures, and the environment.
Throughout the design process, you will actively seek holistic methods and processes that promote the inclusion of Indigenous peoples and their knowledge. You will critically examine the potential of AI to support and enhance Indigenous knowledge systems while carefully considering its ethical and social implications. While recognising the potential limitations of direct collaboration with Indigenous peoples, we will explore avenues to engage with Indigenous ways of knowing and doing and seek their input whenever possible in respectful, mutually beneficial ways.
