Overview
This unit examines the changing nature of design practice and lays the groundwork for collaboration among designers from various disciplines with the aim of co-developing innovative methods to incorporate and apply emerging design practices to complex issues.
Through collaboration and critique, you will explore how technology and societal shifts disrupt traditional design, demanding new approaches that prioritise social and environmental responsibility. You will question conventional design by analysing current literature and dissecting the shortcomings of existing practices. And you will challenge the status quo by collaborating with peers from diverse disciplines to develop design solutions that diverge from established norms.
Throughout this process, you will document your critical journey by reflecting on your evolving perspective as you grapple with the complexities of responsible design in your process journal.
