Collaborative design studio 2
COL1002
Synopsis
Collaborative Design 2 introduces you to design as a way of exploring real-world and speculative challenges across social, cultural, environmental, technological, and economic dimensions. Through a thematic line of inquiry, you will engage with projects that address global challenges, focusing on learning and practising collaborative design methods to investigate complex issues such as inequality, sustainability, and access to resources. Guided workshops will help you build technical skills in digital production, including print, laser cutting, and 3D printing, as you bring your design ideas to life. Throughout the unit, you will refine your ability to communicate effectively, drawing on peer learning, lived experiences, and professional insights to better understand diverse perspectives. By reflecting on the collaborative process, you will develop insights that inform your future design interactions and understand how design influences both individual and collective growth.
