Overview
Combining the theory and skills acquired from communication, spatial and industrial design, Collaborative design studio 4 integrates your knowledge and experience into a collaborative design process. You will apply these understandings, working with your peers and partners, to produce a variety of design projects with a social focus. These may involve the health, community and cultural sectors.
Essentially, all design projects are collaborative. Designers collaborate with clients, community, users, viewers, environments, ecosystems, key stakeholders and other designers. In this studio, you will develop your collaborative design language and skills to create briefs, negotiate preferred features of design products, codesign with users and test outcomes. This unit explicitly develops your capacity to intersect interdisciplinary knowledge; clearly communicate a project’s intentions; and build your confidence in collaborative design making and thinking processes.
