Synopsis
This unit introduces you to the creative, historical, and technical foundations of filmmaking. Through a combination of theoretical instruction, film screenings, hands-on workshops, and structured assignments, you will learn how to design, plan, shoot, and edit video content using a range of professional tools and techniques. You will build core skills in editing software, camera operation, lighting, audio recording, and AI video tools, with a focus on narrative structure, continuity editing, and visual storytelling. Working across both documentary and fiction formats, you will produce original work and gain experience in every stage of video production, from concept to final edit.
