Synopsis
This unit is designed to enhance your teaching practice. The unit focuses on the art of planning effectively, learner teaching and learning experiences, formal and informal assessments and data utilization, drawing on both theoretical insights and practical experiences.
Within this unit you will have opportunities to design, deliver and refine teaching plans and assessment rubrics in response to peer feedback. By engaging in collaborative planning to foster inclusive and supportive learning environments you will develop knowledge of current curriculum; research-based assessment practices; the teaching and learning cycle; how to develop learning goals, scaffold and engage learners; and ways to incorporate relevant assessment strategies into a lesson. In addition, you will explore different ways to keep effective records of student achievement to monitor growth over time and for reporting to students, parents and carers.
Overall, the unit is designed to enhance your ability to plan effectively and use assessment to support and improve student learning, fostering dynamic and responsive teaching practices.
