Curriculum in inclusive education
EDF3077
Synopsis
This unit prepares you to teach successfully in inclusive classrooms by learning about various ways the curriculum can be adapted to meet the learning and teaching needs of learners with disabilities. You will learn about teaching practices that potentially exclude learners with disabilities and how to alter these to ensure all learners can access the taught curriculum. You will also learn about the key principles of adapting curriculum generally, but also at key transition periods, including when students move into primary school, from primary to secondary settings and from secondary settings to work. You will gain skills in adapting text books, units of work and various learning tasks so that all learners can fully participate and benefit from school curriculum.
