Synopsis
This unit prepares you to teach school Health and Physical Education (HPE) from Years 7 to 10. It focuses in particular on the ‘Movement and Physical Activity’ strand of the Australian/Victorian Curriculum for HPE. Weaving theory and practice, workshops are designed to challenge your thinking about HPE, and provide you with essential knowledge and skills to critically engage with a range of frameworks, models and approaches that will support innovative and evidence-informed planning, teaching and assessment. You will be provided with opportunities to further develop and consolidate your pedagogical content knowledge, and will engage with ongoing processes of assessment for learning. Overall, this unit will enhance your capacity to plan, teach and assess within HPE, and lay the foundations for relevant life-long learning and professional development.
