Overview
In this unit, you will understand the broad spectrum of connections between leadership and emotions. You will explore different approaches to theorising leadership and emotions, drawing on a range of theoretical perspectives. You will explore leadership and emotions both in leaders themselves (inner leadership), as well as in those they lead (inter-personal leadership). In doing so, you will develop an understanding of the factors that influence emotions and wellbeing including the pressures and challenges of leadership in education today. You will explore the intersections of identity and emotions, and develop an understanding of how emotions are perceived and experienced differently for different groups in education. You will examine how leaders can make use of this knowledge to build trust and develop relationships while emphasising the well-being of others.
