Acute and chronic wounds
MWC5204
Synopsis
In this unit you will distinguish the clinical presentation of acute, chronic and atypical wounds, and determine the most appropriate diagnostic pathways. You will consider evidence-based approaches in the management of these wound types and integrate knowledge from wound assessment and wound management principles, to assess, diagnose and manage the different wounds. Your knowledge will enable you to develop strategies to optimise patient outcomes and address barriers affecting adherence to wound management, ensuring that there is effective communication for all involved in the care of patients.
