Synopsis
The focus of the unit is creative photographic fine art practice and the power of the photographic image as pertaining to a contemporary artistic context. It aims to build on a preliminary understanding of the theories, histories and practice of contemporary fine art photography developed in PHO1203. You will explore the construction and production of the photographic image using a range of analogue and digital approaches. With a focus on practical skill based learning using photographic techniques including: digital SLR camera, film SLR and medium format cameras, film processing and darkroom printing, the lighting studio, digital scanners and digital printers.
