Overview

Positive psychology focuses on promoting optimal human functioning.  In this unit you will learn about a range of concepts and models in positive psychology, as well as interventions to enhance the functioning of individuals and groups. You will learn about the relevance of positive psychology in a range of contexts and across the lifespan.  You will have the opportunity to apply positive psychology to yourself, as well as undertake a positive psychology intervention with another student. You will undertake both individual and group activities in this unit to develop your understanding of how to measure positive psychology concepts and develop interventions.

Preparation: 4 to 5 hours of prescribed reading/multimedia learning resources per week. Four hours of private study (e.g. completion of journal, experiential exercises, preparation of written assignments, and online group presentation). Attendance at tutorials is recommended in order to successfully complete in-class activities and related assessment tasks.
