Overview

Understanding the global economy is becoming more important in the life of a modern professional. Political and economic trends are changing at a rapid rate and being able to make sense of today’s economic realities can be extremely advantageous in boosting your career.

In this specialisation you will have the opportunity to complete units in game theory, international economics, managerial economics and data visualisation. You will also have the option to study a regional economics unit, ranging from the Chinese economy, to Southeast Asian economics or the European economy.

By specialising in business economics you will gain a deep understanding of global economies and learn the master tools and methods used by professional economists. You will also be able to combine this specialist economics knowledge with a broader understanding of business, which makes it perfect if you are interested in roles that require a deep understanding of economics without becoming a professional economist – such as an economics journalist or a public policy employee. You will also be well-prepared for roles in the public sector, NGOs and the corporate sector, where you will analyse regional economies, evaluate regulation, or contribute to policy evaluations.
