The handbook's description of this structure

This is a comprehensive course, structured in four parts:

Part A. Core studies

These studies will provide you with a broad foundation for your study of commerce and expose you to several commerce disciplines. This will contribute breadth to your knowledge of commerce and address the graduate course outcomes. It will also give you the opportunity to learn more about each discipline before finalising your choice of major.

Part B. Major studies

Your major studies will provide you with a focused program of study that will develop your expertise in one discipline area. You will develop, apply and communicate an advanced level of understanding of the concepts and theoretical frameworks that constitute the knowledge base of your major area of study.

Part C. Capstone studies

This is designed to consolidate the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the study of your course.

Part D. Elective studies

This will enable you to further develop your knowledge of your chosen major, or commerce more broadly, through a second major or a minor. Alternatively, you can select units from across the University in which you are eligible to enrol.

Masters Accelerated Pathway

The Bachelor of Commerce offers an Accelerated Pathway option into the Master of Business, Master of Global Business, Master of Management, Master of Applied Marketing and Master of Regulation and Compliance. This Accelerated Pathway allows you to complete a master’s degree with one additional year of full-time study.

If you have completed at least 96 credit points and have achieved a high credit (65%) average, you can apply to the Course Director for the master’s accelerated pathway. If admitted to the accelerated pathway, you will use four units (24 credit points) of your Elective studies (Part D) to complete master-level units from one of the destination courses.

Note: You still need to meet the entry requirement of having an overall 65% weighted average mark at the end of your degree to enter the master’s program.
