International tourism marketing research project

APG5183

Synopsis

This is a research project based unit designed for students who are focused on developing a career in international tourism marketing and destination development.

The centrepiece of this unit is a European industry study tour followed by attendance at ITB Berlin, the world's largest travel symposium and trade fair.

Pre and post departure classes are delivered on campus with a focus on the internationalisation process of destinations and their overall competitiveness in the global tourism economy.

The workshops are supported by a specifically designed industry seminar and site visit program in the Baltic States  highlighting the development of the tourism economy and attendance at the ITB Berlin industry symposium.

Learning in this global context combines with theoretical approaches to give context to student-led research projects.
