Overview
This unit explores the complex relationship between media and audiences, users and consumers. The unit examines key qualitative methods for researching media audiences. It also provides a detailed understanding of how audience experiences, agency, participation, power and influence have been theorised within media, communications and cultural studies. Students will develop a critical understanding of media audiences, including key theories, debates, methods and metrics for contemporary audience research.
