Integrative biomedical science practical

Synopsis

In this unit, you will gain work experience through the completion of a laboratory-based research project. You will work in a small research team, mentored by a career researcher, to plan and conduct a series of experiments to address a novel research question. To support your work in the lab, you will be guided in the development of skills in experimental design, ethical conduct and specific techniques via a series of workshops and lab skill training sessions. You will be required to keep appropriate experimental records and communicate regularly with your mentor and peers to coordinate and carry out a research project and report on your findings. Throughout the unit research careers in academic, research institutes and industry will be highlighted.
