Overview

This unit exposes you to the differences between companies, trusts and other business structures used in Australia and the processes involved to create an Australian company. This unit will also demonstrate to you how companies operate in Australia, the potential legal liability of their participants and stakeholders, as well as the effects of external regulation and internal company rules on company directors and investors which will enable you to learn how companies are managed, with particular emphasis on the duties and legal obligations of directors. This unit will also provide you with an understanding of how companies raising of capital is regulated, the legal remedies for dissatisfied investors in companies, and forms of corporate insolvency administration.
