Biomedical electronics for perfusion

Synopsis
In this unit you will be introduced to the working principles of patient monitoring and perfusion equipment. You will learn about essential biomedical electronics concepts and the role and application of these principles to the clinical environment. Attention will be on the monitoring of perfusion hardware and clinical parameters during cardiopulmonary bypass to ensure safe practice, in line with the ANZCP Standards and Guidelines. You will explore technical issues and develop problem-solving skills, while also creating mitigation strategies to de-risk complex and problematic clinical scenarios.
