In this unit, you will explore a wide range of language teaching methodologies and approaches to prepare you for effective language teaching in the classroom. Through an examination of language policies, curricula, and assessment frameworks at the Victorian, national and global level, as well as relevant research literature, you will critically reflect on how these inform decisions related to the teaching and learning of languages. You will engage in a range of interactive and collaborative tasks to build up your practical knowledge of language teaching. Drawing on literature and research studies, you will also review, analyse, consolidate and synthesise your knowledge and skills as you work towards advancing your capacities as a teacher of languages.
