Overview

This unit builds on the content covered in NUR2226, Nursing practice contexts 1.

Students will be introduced to the pathophysiology, pharmacology and evidence based nursing management for health consumers presenting with: neurological, gastrointestinal, hepatic, vascular and haematological conditions. In addition, the assessment and management of paediatrics, family centred care and care of gender specific health issues will be explored.

Clinical placement (120 hours)

Students must attend a minimum of 80% of all scheduled Clinical Learning Environment activities. Absences of greater than 20% of Clinical Learning Environment activities need to be explained.
Students must attend 100% of the scheduled clinical placement. A medical certificate must be provided for all absences from clinical placement.
