Synopsis
In this unit you will continue to build your knowledge and skills in the areas of acute medical-surgical nursing. Within the unit, you will learn about caring for a range of health conditions where multiple body systems may be affected and you will apply this to planning and delivering person-centered care. The role of the nurse in caring for various patients will be a particular focus of this unit, allowing you to further enhance your practice, build autonomy and further develop communication skills in this particular area.
The knowledge and skills gained within this unit, will enable you to practice in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Registered Nurse Standards for Practice, Code of Conduct for Nurses, and the International Council of Nurses (ICN) Code of Ethics for Nurses.
