Synopsis
The unit draws its key strength from Theme 2 – Nutrition and Health, as you learn the roles of nutrition in the broader population, with an underpinning of Theme 3 - Nutrition Professional and Skills Development as you will be expected to develop professional ethics and values in the context of the population you work with. Nutritional epidemiology is a fundamental concept in public health nutrition where you will study how foods affect overall health and diseases in a population. In this unit, you will be introduced to the basics of epidemiology related to nutrition. This includes key concepts and methods of design, analysis and evaluation of population-based nutrition studies.
