Synopsis
This unit builds on the basic concepts and fundamentals of nutrition, expanding your knowledge of nutrition and dietary recommendations. You will explore how good nutrition supports healthy development from pre-conception to old age, taking a lifespan approach across the unit.
You will cover nutrition requirements, stages of development, and health and eating behaviours (including theories of change) across the lifespan. In this unit you will also cover cultural, personal, economic and social factors that influence health behaviours specific to each life stage. You will apply your knowledge in case-based scenarios and developing evidence-based nutrition education resources.
