Synopsis
In this unit, you will effectively integrate research knowledge and skill with occupational therapy practice knowledge and skill. You will gain skills in applying qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to design and develop an individual research project
The research project undertaken will require you to formulate a research aim and/or question/s, complete a background literature review, design an appropriate methodology to answer the research question/s, consider ethical implications and ensure submission of an ethics application, plan data analysis and presentation of results. You will work in collaboration with a host organisation, the Monash university academic supervisor/s and other stakeholders. In OCC3072, you will spend up to two days per week in the organisation to develop the research proposal as well as engage in fieldwork activities. The honours research program prepares you for future capabilities as a clinician researcher or researcher and enables entry into Higher Degrees by Research.
