Overview
Food science and business is an interdisciplinary extended major that provides students with knowledge in food science and business. Fundamentals of food, food chemistry, food bioprocess, food processing, food product development and food quality management are introduced. Integrating the understanding of food production with business streams equips students with a broad view from food production to business, bridging the gap in bringing nutritious, safe, affordable, and sustainable food products to the global food market.
The Food science and business extended major includes the option of three streams – strategic marketing, management, and digital marketing, to enhance farm-to-market skills and appreciate food industries as a business. Students can understand the business landscape of food industries through this interdisciplinary extended major.
