The Monash Indonesia Master of Public Health provides the full range of quantitative, analytical and communication skills necessary to work in the broad domain of public health. It also provides skills in the quantitative methods of the population-based health sciences and their problem-solving application for primary care provision within Australia and developing countries.

Note: Full-time students may choose to participate in the Australia Exchange pathway instead of the standard Part C requirements. The Australia Exchange pathway requires completion of 24 credit points from any units within the MPH program offered at Monash University Australia during your exchange study period. You may choose units that accumulate a total of 24 credit points from the website shown below, provided you meet the prerequisites and any other enrolment rules for each unit. Elective studies

You must complete 12 credit points from the course progression maps of the following degrees.

The course is structured in three parts: Part A. Foundation studies, Part B. Core studies, and Part C. Discipline elective studies.

Part A. Foundation studies

In these studies, you will gain specialised professional knowledge in the core skills, knowledge, and disciplines of public health through the study of epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion and planning, and introduction and challenges in public health.

Part B. Core studies

In these studies, you will develop an understanding of knowledge and skills in the broad domain of public health through core studies in the public health discipline area of infections and chronic disease, research methods and clinical trials.
You will also apply skills and knowledge to public health delivery, clinical leadership and management and examine occupational health and safety and environmental influences on health.

Part C. Discipline elective studies

In these studies, you will have the opportunity to gain greater expertise in key areas of your interest through an elective study program to suit your own career interests. Full-time students may choose to participate in the Australia Exchange pathway.

Master's entry points

Depending on prior qualifications you may receive entry level credit (a form of block credit) which determines your point of entry to the course:

  • If you are admitted at entry Level 1 you complete 96 credit points, comprising Part A, Part B, and Part C.

  • If you are admitted at entry Level 2 you complete 72 credit points, comprising Part B and Part C.

Notes:

  • Entry Level 2 is available full-time only, part-time study is not available for this entry level.

  • If you are eligible for credit for prior studies you may elect not to receive the credit and commence the Level 1 (96 credit points) option.

Monash Level A: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or Pearson Test of English (Academic): score of 58 overall with no band lower than 50; or TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or Equivalent approved English test
