Overview
The Master of Critical Care Paramedicine offers registered paramedics the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills to enable them to practice at an advanced level. This course is designed to provide you with the necessary education and training for a critical care paramedic role as well as prepare you for leadership, education and research positions. The course fosters the integration of reflection, professionalism, leadership, teamwork, interpersonal communication, and patient focused care at an advanced level into all areas of clinical practice.
The course is designed to provide you with the skills and training to successfully complete a critical care internship and provide the highest level of paramedic care for cardiac, respiratory, medical, trauma, paediatric and obstetric patients. You will develop autonomous clinical reasoning and decision-making abilities based on an advanced understanding and interpretation of clinical presentations. You will also learn and demonstrate advanced techniques and treatment regimes which will enable you to provide the highest level of out-of-hospital care for your specialist area of paramedic practice. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to choose between a coursework or research pathway.
