Artificial intelligence

C2005 Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence is a specialist course, structured in four parts. In this double degree you complete:

Part A. Foundation studies

AI foundation studies introduce programming, data and evaluation, technology impacts, and AI systems and tools, including secure and responsible use of AI-enabled systems.

Part B. Specialist studies

AI specialists studies deepen capability in major areas of contemporary AI practice and advanced topics.

Part C. Practice studies

Practice studies provide a structured, industry-embedded project spine through which you apply your knowledge in progressively more complex contexts, including project scoping, design, implementation, evaluation, governance, and capstone delivery.

Commerce

B2001 Bachelor of Commerce is a comprehensive course, structured in four parts. In this double degree course you complete:

Part A. Core studies

These studies will provide you with a broad foundation for your study of commerce and expose you to several commerce disciplines. This will contribute breadth to your knowledge of commerce and address the graduate course outcomes. It will also give you the opportunity to learn more about each discipline before finalising your choice of major.

Part B. Major studies

Your major studies will provide you with a focused program of study that will develop your expertise in one discipline area. You will develop, apply and communicate an advanced level of understanding of the concepts and theoretical frameworks that constitute the knowledge base of your major area of study.

Part C. Capstone studies

This is designed to consolidate the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the study of your course.

The Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence is a practice-centred, industry-embedded degree focused on preparing industry-ready AI practitioners capable of planning, developing, deploying, and managing AI-enabled solutions responsibly in real-world settings. You will develop strong technical capability in programming, data and evaluation, AI systems and tools, and advanced AI applications, supported by practical learning experiences focused on requirements elicitation, stakeholder engagement, product strategy, impact assessment, and capstone delivery. The course places strong emphasis on responsible AI practice, including ethics, privacy, security, safety, risk management, and lifecycle management, ensuring you are equipped to evaluate when and how AI should be applied within complex organisational and operational contexts. Through authentic project-based learning and opportunities such as the industry-based learning (IBL) placement program, you will graduate with professional experience and a portfolio of applied AI project work.
 
The Bachelor of Commerce complements this technical expertise by developing strong analytical, strategic, and commercial capabilities suited to contemporary business environments. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical application, you will develop expertise in areas of commerce and learn to generate ethical and innovative solutions for business, government, not-for-profit, and public policy settings.
