This specialisation will prepare you to teach adolescents from 12 to 18 years of age in secondary schools from Year 7 to Year 12 as a specialist teacher of health and physical education (up to Year 10), health and human development (Years 10 and 11), physical education (Years 10 and 11) and a third subject area of your choice, such as: mathematics or science. You will develop an understanding of adolescent learning and development in a secondary education environment including areas such as: classroom teaching and practice in schools, curriculum planning, implementation and evaluation, and education and its relationship to society. You will also be prepared to work more broadly and effectively in community, recreational and sporting settings.

You must complete four units in an elected discipline with at least 12 credit points each at levels 1 and 2. Discipline areas are: Biology, Business, Chemistry, English (four units in literature studies comprising two units at level 1 and two units at level 2), Geography, Mathematics and Social Education.
